Tribecalledtrash bestaat uit series kunstwerken waarin ‘Trash’ zowel letterlijk als figuurlijk wordt gebruikt. Letterlijk is een berg afval op straat haast vergroeid met het straatbeeld en weerspiegelt aan ons terug hoe we omgaan met materie, elkaar en onszelf in deze vluchtige maatschappij. Figuurlijk wordt in deze nieuwe serie het begrip ‘Trash’ uitgediept in onderwerpen die bestaan in de onderstroom van de samenleving - de schaduwzijde waar we liever van wegkijken of ons niet bewust van zijn.
In een bitterzoete vertelling tracht de kunstenaar in deze serie onze collectieve en persoonlijke schaduwkanten naar voren te brengen en te belichten. De relatie tussen het kunstwerk en het publiek is bijzonder interactief. De kijker wordt geherintroduceerd met iets wat hij herkent, maar liever niet wil zien. Door het in een andere context te plaatsen, vaak mooier dan de herinnering aan het object of de waarde en betekenis, wekt het nieuwsgierigheid. Het idee van re-use, repurposing en nieuw leven geven aan iets wat afgewezen wordt en niet gezien wil worden, creëert naast de praktische aandacht en psychologische gevoelswaarde, een sterk symbolisch beeld en geeft waarde aan de menselijke ervaring doordat het bewust maakt wat tot dan toe onbewust was.

Tribecalledtrash are series of artworks that uses the concept of "Trash" both literally and figuratively. Literally, it represents a pile of waste on the streets, almost merging with the urban landscape, reflecting how we deal with possession, materialism, each other, and ourselves in this fast-paced society. Figuratively, in this new series, the concept of 'Trash' is delved into
subjects that exist in the undercurrent of society -
the shadowy side we prefer to look away from or
are unaware of.
In a bittersweet narrative, the artist attempts in this series to bring forth and highlight our collective and personal shadow aspects. The relationship between the artwork and the audience is highly interactive. The viewer is reintroduced to something they recognize but would rather not see. By placing it in a different context, often more beautiful than the memory of the object or its value and meaning, it arouses curiosity. The idea of re-use, repurposing and giving new life to something that is rejected and doesn’t want to be seen, creates not only practical attention and psychological emotional value, but also a strong symbolic image. Giving value to the human experience by making the unconscious conscious.
